Hip Hip Hooray, It’s Your Kid’s Birthday!

Growing up, birthdays were always a big deal.  There were piñatas, overly decorated cakes, and lots of family.  We also had the occasional bounce house.  The point being, kids in my family were spoiled when it came to birthday parties — they still are.  And why shouldn’t they be?  Kids look at the world with such awe and wonder, even the tiniest details seem to bring them joy and fill them with fascination.  That’s what makes planning their birthday parties so much fun.  As an adult, I love seeing their reaction to all the little things that they come across.

I think my favorite part of planning my own birthday parties with my mom was picking out the theme and all the decorations to go with it.  Which is part of the reason why I was so excited for the launch of our MOD Pattern Kid’s Birthday Party Favors.  Event Blossom now has an entire section just for kids, so grab that special tyke in your life and get planning together!

Start off by browsing our variety of Kid Birthday designs and choosing from one of the many popular themes such as pirates or princesses.

Then, coordinate pieces from our selection of party favors and accessories.  Start with our Milk Bottles to serve your kiddo’s favorite drink, like hot cocoa or lemonade:

Don’t forget dessert!  Cupcakes are easy to bake and even easier to eat.  Decorate them with personalized Cupcake Wrappers and Toppers:

As a parting gift and lasting memento, fill some of our Sweet Shoppe Candy Boxes or Candy Tubes with your child’s favorite candies, treats, and small toys.

Whatever combination you choose to accessorize your kid’s birthday party, remember that it’s not about styling a perfect event; it’s about making memories.  Years from now, when you’re planning their Sweet Sixteen or graduation party, they’ll probably still remember how they got to help you pick out all the fun stuff for their Wild West Shindig or Circus Extravaganza.

Happy Party Planning!

Well Hello, 2013!

It’s my first post of 2013, and I couldn’t be happier to be back!

Since the Event Blossom Team has returned from their holiday break, we’ve all been busy as bees pumping out orders for all of our lovely retailers.  I’ve been keeping a close eye on our processing department, trying to stay on top of developing trends and popular products.

Here are some things I’ve taken note of so far:

  • Our MOD Pattern collection of favors are a big hit!  The most popular MOD Patterns so far are: Trellis, Tiny Dots, and Chevron.
  • There have been numerous orders for Milk Bottles paired with orders for our Striped Paper Straws.  It looks like plenty of wedding, baby shower, and birthday party guests will be sipping their drinks in style!
  • 2013 looks like it’s going to be the year of the Candy Tube.  We’ve been getting a steady stream of orders for these versatile favors since we’ve been back.

Overall, I think we’ve got a good year for celebrations ahead of us.

Come back and visit on Thursday for a new post!

Calling All Superheroes!

mod kid's birthday candy tubes

Admit it.  You have put on a cape and pretended to be a superhero at least once in your life.  Maybe you even managed to get up to the roof of your house and attempted to fly in which case, I hope that the evil geniuses known as “mom” or “dad” managed to foil your flight plans.  Now that we’re all grown up, it’s probably been quite some time since we put on the ol’ cape and mask.  That doesn’t mean we can’t be a hero every now and again.  Save the day at your kid’s next birthday party with these awesome favors requiring only 2 (that’s right, two) things.

  1. MOD Kid’s Birthday Candy Tubes (EB2300MDK – labels shown in Tangerine, with the Stars Pattern Design and ZAP Kid Design)
  2. Colored Old Fashioned Rock Candy (found at a candy store or you can play mad scientist and make your own using this recipe)

All I did was smash up the rock candy and mix the colors just to make the candy tubes pop a little more.  Now, you just have to decide what they’re used for.  Whether they’re a storage for superhero powers or the secret to defeating evil, theses sweet favors are sure to be a hit with the little ones.  To add to your super party, get more Mod Pattern Kid’s Birthday Favors to match.
Now, go whip out that old superhero suit and join in on the fun!

Make Way for the Princesses!

Throwing a party for the little princess in your life?  Every fairytale has a little magic to it and you can add a bit of that to your child’s birthday party with the help of a:

Magic Wand!

These fun favors are quick and easy.  Here’s what you need:

  • Candy Tubes (EB2300) Example shows: EB2300MDK in Strawberry Pink, Flower Lattice Pattern, and Princess Design
  • Strips of colored fabric approximately 10″ in length
  • Variety of pink ribbon cut into strips that are the same length as the fabric
  • Hot glue gun
  • *Optional: glitter

After acquiring all of my supplies, I gathered pieces of fabric and ribbon together into a little bunch.  You can make these as thick or as thin as you’d like (I like the look of a thicker bunch myself).  Then, I took one more piece of ribbon and tied the bunch together.  You want to tie them as close to the bottom as possible.  Using the hot glue gun, I glued the bottom of the bundle to one of the caps.  Simple as that — just add glitter!

These favors also make a fun activity.  You can lay out all the supplies (minus the hot glue gun — that job is probably best left to adults) and let the little princesses create their own wands!

If you haven’t noticed, I’m having a blast with our new favors.  Just take a look at last week’s twitter spree with the milk bottles.  I know, the product launch was last week, but that doesn’t mean we’re done celebrating!  I’ve got more candy tube ideas coming your way this week.

What will I do with these next???

Stay Tuned!

Cool New Products Just in Time for Winter!

Happy December!

It’s been far too long since my last post and we’ve got a lot to talk about.  October and November were such a crazy blur — is there anyone else who still can’t believe it’s already December?  I’m still trying to wrap that notion around my own brain.  Soon it’ll be 2013!  Let’s do a quick re-cap of the Fall:

  • The “Helpful How-To” series started with some of our more popular assembly-required products
  • We started getting to know some of our fabulous retailers a little better with our “Quick Q+A” features
  • Hurricane Sandy swept through the East Coast, and everyday we were a little bit more relieved to hear from a friend or family member letting us know that they were safe.

Here’s what to expect for the Winter and New Year:

  • We’ll be brainstorming more  “Helpful How-To” posts.  Send any requests on over!
  • January will feature another retailer for our “Quick Q+A.”  We’re looking for more retailers to feature in 2013, let us know if you’re interested!
  • Recovery on the East Coast seems to have progressed, but the relief effort is not over.  The American Red Cross is still accepting donations here.

Last, but certainly not least:

We’ve got NEW PRODUCTS!

Our candy tubes are a stylish and versatile way to hand out favors at your next event.  Add more fashion points to your party by serving drinks in our glass milk bottles and cupcakes dressed up in our wrappers and toppers.  Also new, our MOD Pattern designs and MOD Kid Birthday designs.  Our MOD Patterns feature today’s hottest patterns like chevron, stripes, and dots giving your favors a fresh look.  MOD Kid Birthday designs were made with youngsters in mind and include popular themes such as pirates, princesses, and superheroes!  Scroll down to see some images of these new products and click here to view the official newsletter.  Click on the image to see our entire collection of new products in the Event Blossom store.
