Don’t Miss Out on this Perfect Poolside Read

I don’t know about any of you, but I’m squeezing every last second I can out of the final month and a half or so of Summer we’ve got left.   So believe me when I say that I took some time to thoroughly enjoy the Summer edition of Stationery Trends Magazine.

be sure to check out their website, too!

I especially enjoyed the article that featured our Jungle Safari Mod Party Kit:

No, I didn’t enjoy it just because of our feature.  This article discussed the ongoing debate over the two distinct style philosophies so named in the title of the article: classic and edgy.  I tend to use the terms traditional and modern, but either way it’s still one of my favorite topics to ponder over.  Why?  Because it’s a discussion that can inspire such wonderful and unique creations that mix the best of both worlds.  Take the fine examples featured alongside our very own mod party kit; as the article notes for the baby shower market, the bold colors add a modern twist on classic themes.  In conclusion, I think this is a healthy debate that will never be settled — and the design world is better for it.  After all, classics become classic for a reason and if there weren’t anyone pushing boundaries with modern ideas, then most industries in general would not get very far.

There were many other great articles in this edition.  I found a fair share of valuable information regarding blogging that I fully intend on putting to good use as well as some great pieces about the National Stationery Show.  So while you’re soaking up the final rays of the summer sun, I suggest you take some time to peruse the great articles and stunning photos that fill this edition of Stationery Trends Magazine.

Until Next Week,

Here Come the Grads!

It seems to me that weddings steal the spotlight in the special event industry.  Granted, they are a pretty big deal —  even I have gotten caught up in the hype that is wedding season.  As much as I love weddings though, I would like to turn the attention to a different milestone.

GRADUATION!

Rows filled with people, flowing gowns, a familiar song.  Sounds almost like a wedding, right?  Also similar to a wedding, it marks the ending of one era and beginning of another.  Whether it’s from grade school, college, anything in between or beyond, graduation is the ultimate celebration of your efforts and hard work.  And that is a fabulous reason to throw a party.  As a matter of fact, Event Blossom’s very own Ashlee just graduated from college with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and she’s throwing a graduation party of her own.   “Graduation” is a party theme within itself, and a flexible one at that.  Ashlee is going with a simple theme featuring her school colors, but virtually any other theme could also work for a graduation party.  My personal favorite is a travel theme.

Graduations are usually celebrated in the Spring or Summer seasons.  I don’t know about anyone else, but these seasons make me think of great places I would love to travel to.  Places like tropical islands… Hawaii, anyone??  Aside from actual locations around the globe, travel can also refer to this journey we call life.  The completion of an education (of any kind) widens your horizons and can lead you to many exciting destinations.
So invite your closest relatives and friends to celebrate these exciting openings and opportunities to come.  A great way to thank your guests for their support?  Packing a suitcase for them!

Going for a simpler theme for your grad party?  Don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of other graduation favors for you to choose from.  Find one that suits your style, and make it all your own — another thing graduation has in common with a wedding: it’s all about the celebrant, as in you.

So let’s hear it one more time for Ashlee and all new graduates…

Congratulations, Class of 2012!

Event Blossom is Headed to the Big Apple!

There’s a lot of buzz going on in the stationery world about a particular event taking place very soon.  As a matter of fact, Stationery Trends Magazine‘s most recent issue dedicated an entire issue to it:

More on that later, but right now let’s focus on another feature in the Spring issue:

can you spot the EB products???

Let US Eat Cake!

There has been A LOT of new and exciting things in the works over here — a couple  of the newest and most exciting things being the launch of our Mod Party Kits and the launch of our blog.   Soon after the arrival of our Mod Party Kits, we decided that we wanted to do a special blog series about each of these great new products.  As we were checking out all the goodies each kit held (and being the cupcake lover that I am), I got especially excited about the adorable cupcake wrappers and toppers.  Then, a brilliant idea came to me.

But first, a mini history lesson:

The phrase “Let them eat cake,” is the English translation of the French quote: “Qui’ils mangent de la brioche.”  This was a quote supposedly uttered by Queen Marie Antoinette when she was made aware that the peasants did not have any bread.  Although there is no actual record of her speaking these words, it was meant to capture the queen’s obliviousness to the current struggles of the very people she ruled over.   Nowadays, it’s just a fun phrase to say when it’s time for dessert.  Or maybe that’s just me.  Now I really want a cupcake…What were we talking about?

Oh, right, blog series:

I’m so happy to announce that for this fun project, we have collaborated with fellow blog Sugar Therapy in order to bring you wonderful Blossomers a very delicious treat!  Our delightful friend over at Sugar Therapy is one baking genius and we’re so thrilled to be working with her.  Just take a look at one of her creations:

Doesn't this look AMAZING?!

While we give you some fun ideas about how to use each kit, this brilliant baker gal is whipping up special recipes to go with each Party Kit Theme.  It’s going to be one creative, tasty adventure and we want you along for the ride!

Stay Tuned, Event Blossomers!

Event Blossom: The One Stop Party Shop!

I’d like to begin this post with a poem:

Once upon a time in our processing room
Austin arrived without one hint of gloom.
In his arms was a big box filled with goodies galore,
And he introduced the newest addition to our little store!

I know my poetry skills aren’t all that impressive, but I was so excited about this post that I had to do something special to mark this momentous occasion in Event Blossom History!  At this point, those who are new to the EB scene (and maybe even some of you who have been with us for awhile) probably have one big question on your mind: “Who on Earth is Austin?”  Have no fear, I have the answer!  He’s this really great guy who is kind of a big deal around the office– he’s the boss.

Not quite the question/answer that came to mind?  I know, I was just building the suspense!  I’m guessing that the correct question you were seeking the answer to is something along the lines of: “What on earth was in that box?!”

Drumroll, please…

On behalf of the Event Blossom Team, I am very pleased to introduce our new Mod Party Kits!  These kits come in 10 different themes and have everything you need to throw a party in style.  Check out the lovely pictures below to get a glimpse of some of these babies in action.

welcome your guests in style!

Welcome to the Blog!

Hello, Event Blossomers!  Our team is always bursting at the seams with things we would all love to share with you from creative favor ideas to big news like the arrival of new products.  Now, we have a place to share them!  So let’s get started, shall we?

Traditionally, favors were given mainly at weddings as a gesture of gratitude.  The old favorite?  Jordan almonds — usually wrapped in tulle and tied with a ribbon.  There’s even a little poem that goes with them:

Five sugared almonds for each guest to eat
to remind us that life is both bitter and sweet.
Five wishes for the new husband and wife —
Health, wealth, happiness, children, and long life!

So not only were favors a nice way for a bride and groom to say “thank you” to their wedding guests, but they also had a place in wedding lore right along with “Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.”  Nowadays, favors are given at a variety of events and for a variety of reasons.  Personally, I think it’s great!  And no, not just because we sell favors…

I spotted a quote during a Hallmark commercial the other day:

“Life is a special occasion.”

I couldn’t have said it better.  Who says that you can’t throw a party “just because?”  I say that you should celebrate whatever and whenever you feel moved to do so: passing a big exam, moving into your first home, or even simply because it’s the end of a long workweek.  Throw a party for family members, for new friends, for old friends, or even for your beloved pet!  There are no momentous events too big or too small for a celebration.  And if you just so happen to be in need of favors, well you know that Event Blossom always has your back.
